Workshop

On January 29-30, the RECOGNISING SAINTS team organised a workshop during which we had the honour and pleasure of hosting the most prominent specialists in medieval cult of saints: Gábor Klaniczay (Central European University), Giovanni Maggioni (University of Molise), Sara Ellis Nilsson (Linnæus University), Sari Katajala-Peltomaa (University of Turku) and Robert Wiśniewski (University of Warsaw). We were also joined by the head of the Department of Medieval History of our Faculty, Marcin R. Pauk and by the members of our IT team from the Digital Competence Centre of the University of Warsaw, Piotr Kasprzyk and Tomasz Sporczyk.

During the workshop our team presented the premises of the project and the first results of our work. The guests shared with us their expertise not only in the research on the medieval cult of saints, but also in the creation and management of databases. Their feedback at the early stages of our project will certainly help us improve our research questions and methodology.
